As of 2018, women make up 48% of the workforce. Despite qualifications, there is a large disparity between the percentage of women in the workforce and the percentage of women who hold leadership positions.
Only 23% of women hold senior executive titles and less than 10% of Fortune 500 CEOs are women. This problem is even more striking among women of color.
Women of color make-up ⅓ of all women in the workforce. In relation to leadership positions, only 5% of women of color hold Senior Executive titles and 0% of Fortune 500 CEOs are women of color.
