OUR STORY
Women Everywhere Believe, Inc. (WEBelieve) was founded in 2016 by Columbia University graduates Chelsea Miller (Obama White House Alum) and Akua Obeng-Akrofi (Olympian). The women founded the organization to address the intersectional leadership gap, which disproportionately impacts women of color, in the civic and corporate sectors.
WEBelieve partners with educational institutions and companies throughout the country to provide the resources necessary to develop tomorrow's women leaders while also working to combat the barriers that often stifle their leadership growth in school and the workplace.
WEBelieve's Leadership Pipeline starts at the middle school level with our Middle School Leadership Program. WEBelieve's signature middle school programs are facilitated by WEBelieve Chapters.
Chapter members are women leaders enrolled in colleges and universities throughout the country. Members are trained on sustainable partnership building, community strengthening, curriculum implementation, trauma-informed responses, and classroom best practices.
In addition to being classroom facilitators, WEBelieve members receive professional coaching, leadership training, internship and scholarship opportunities, as well as attend WEBelieve's annual conference & gala (Her Legacy Weekend) in New York City.
In 2018 the organization opened the floodgates to membership for women and girls who are not affiliated with a chapter or middle school program. In doing so, allowing women and girls to be a part of the WEBelieve Leadership Pipeline from anywhere in the nation.
